Look Up on February 20th

leave a comment »

The Earth’s shadow is red. We do live on a beautiful planet.

Look up @ 10:26PM (EST) to see the maximum beauty of the last total lunar eclipse until Dec 2010.

NASA kindly put together instructions on watching an eclipse in this article. Get out your notebook: it involves going outside, tilting your head, and opening your eyes.

Do me a favor, please. The eclipse is on a Wednesday so I can’t possibly get out of town to watch the eclipse from a less light and nearby oil refinery-polluted sky. I won’t be able to see it as well. If you have a camera, take a picture and send me a link. I’d love to see what the eclipse looks like from different places.

I know sky pics don’t ever do the sky justice. So if you forget to take a pic or would prefer to see it with your eyes and not through a lens, I’ll forgive you.
